Services
I offer counselling and therapy for a number of different circumstances:
- Bereavement, Loss & Grief Counselling- This service is for individuals coming to terms with a difficult medical diagnosis, terminal illness or impending death. Family members or friends may seek counselling to help them grieve the suffering and possible loss of a significant person in their life.
- New Parents - The significant event of the birth of a child, becoming parents, learning to cope with new experiences and the stress these new roles bring is a time when a safe and quiet place to talk may be helpful. Counselling at this time can help with settling into parenthood.
- Blended Families - New relationships and the bringing children can be stressful for all concerned. Talking over difficulties can be helpful.
- Genetic Counselling - Learning that there may be genetic inheritance that was previously unknown in the family or family of a significant other brings many questions and possible consequences and possible choices that need to be identified and clarified. Counselling is a good place to explore these issues.
- Loss of a Child & Miscarriage - The loss of a child through death or miscarriage is one of the most painful, traumatic and emotional experience a person has to face. This is a time where many feel desperately alone and may find some comfort in counselling.
- Depression, Loneliness, loss of confidence and self esteem- Sometimes life feels heavy and difficult and it is hard to feel hope for the future. It is important to be able to reach out to others in these times.
- Unplanned Pregnancy - There are times when pregnancy and the long term consequence creates a dilemma of what is possible and what is not. It is helpful to have someone to talk to around options and consequences and choices.
- Anxiety &/or Panic Attacks - The pressures of life can sometimes bring worry and anxiety that become overwhelming, creating panic. Counselling sessions can help understand the reason for anxiety and how the anxiety becomes an overwhelming panic experience.
- Workplace concerns - Interviews, conflict with workmates, pressure of workload, potential loss of job, impending change in company structure are some of the workplace issues that cause worry or concern.
- Abuse & Bullying - Abuse and/or bullying can occur at work, home or when socialising. It may be happening currently or may be something that has happened in the past that brings up feelings and behaviours that you would like to talk about.
